Comments "I transferred to Wash U in the spring semester of my junior year, which presented extra challenges in meeting eligibility requirements to write an honors thesis. The pressure I put myself under in order to meet these requirements was well worth the effort because taking on this research project gave me the opportunity to investigate a topic that first intrigued me nearly four years ago, and also gave me the academic and personal challenge I was looking for. The time and energy I put into my thesis has already paid off in many ways, but most notably I was invited to present some of my research at an international seminar where I made several professional contacts and gained valuable experience. When I initially decided to write an honors thesis I hoped it would satisfy my desire to devote myself to a research topic and produce something substantial; however, I am not fully satisfied with what I was able to accomplish here, and so I look forward to further research opportunities."
