Comments Recipient, HHMI/Hoopes Research Award "Working at a laboratory for two years-- part-time during the school-year and full-time during summer-- has been one of my most rewarding academic experiences at Washington University. Being surrounded by enthusiastic, knowledgeable scientists with a passion for imparting knowledge and critical thinking skills on younger minds has provided me with a plethora of skills that have not only helped clarify my career path, but will also prove invaluable in my future research endeavours. My research experience culminated with the writing of my senior honours thesis, an immensely fulfilling albeit challenging endeavour that has taught me a great deal about the scientific writing process, and the opportunity to present my work to the larger community in a variety of symposia. Both of these experiences have prepared me for an exciting future in research." Faculty Mentor: Doug Chalker
