Numerical Simulation and Modeling of Photon Transport in Nano-Structures

An exciting undergraduate research opportunity is available for
strongly motivated senior undergraduate students. The research project
is to numerically simulate and model photon transport in
nano-structures. The major goal is to find out, by employing numerical
methods, how one can fundamentally alter and manipulate the transport
properties of photons via interactions with resonators and atoms.
These topics are in the frontier of quantum optics research and many
new phenomena have not been explored yet.
The project can lead to a long-term research program. Interested
