Internship to Study Video Processing Application Implementations |
| Comments |
There is an opportunity for a junior or senior level student in ESE for a summer internship sponsored by the Transwitch Corporation. The internship can take place
either at Washington University or at Transwitch headquarters in Shelton, Connecticut.
Transwitch (www.Transwitch.com) designs and produces special purpose ASIC chips for the networking and communications industry. A new chip architecture, based on CMPs (chip multiprocessors) is in development. The selected intern will perform a feasibility study on implementing video processing applications with the new architecture. This involves studying the application, developing implementations that exploit the parallel execution and interconnect features of the CMP, determining the resultant performance, and writing a final report.
